Smoothed Rate of Change (SROC)

The study is called SROC in stormtracker and it takes 3 parameters, Bars Back, EMAPeriod and ROC.   The BarsBack parameter must be set to the larger of the two parameters.

Formula:

This study calculates the exponential moving average using the EMAPeriod value, then calculates the rate of change on this moving average using the ROC(rateofchange) parameter.

Where:

Parameters:

The BarsBack parameter is used by stormtracker for internal configurations to determine the number of bars required for the study.  For example if you wanted to calculate SROC with an EMAPeriod of 13 and a ROC of 21, you would set EMAPeriod to 13 , ROC to 21 and BarsBack to 21

Arguments:

Operates on the study specified by the user(open, high, low close or study indicator)

Output Indicators:

The single output indicators out.

Example:

Study Name Expanded in a 3 minute timeframe:

I3_SROC(21,13,21)_I3

This study calculates a TRIX study with a period of 13 and a rate of change of 21.  The first parameter,21, is set to the highest of the two values of 13 or 21, in this case 21
